Welcome to the whirlwind. ChatGPT released its Reasoning model called o1-preview. Itās an early release, but itās the starting point of the move to AI Agents for OpenAI users.
Why do we care? šš¼
o1 is AI doing Chain of thought prompting for you. Itās not a true agent, but OpenAI is starting to train us on how to use this new, deeper reasoning.
This will get you better results with fewer hallucinations.

Which model should you use?
For your day-to-day use, Iām still using Chat GPT 4o and Claude. For more complex issues, Iām testing o1. Iām blown away 35% of the time and disappointed 65% of the time today because Iām not a coder. If you code o1, it will be more important in your life.
Whatās next?
ChatGPT has been with us for two years this fall. Itās OK to be overwhelmed with this pace of change. It will continue to accelerate, which means being disciplined with your time and getting the right tool for the problem at hand.
Iām not smart enough to tell you who will win this race, but I do know that those who have built skills with AI will have a sustainable advantage.
