Meta recently debuted a handful of new AI-powered ad tools at NewFronts 2024. To recap from our Wednesday newsletter, these include:

  • Machine learning-powered creator recommendations for brands in Instagram’s Creator Marketplace
  • AI-based predictions of which organic brand content will perform best when used in paid campaigns
  • Image Expansion for Reels campaigns
  • Multi-destination product ads for Reels
  • External Links in Reminder promotions

So, how can Meta’s new AI-powered solutions help upgrade your Facebook and Instagram ads? Let’s dive into how you can use these tools to create better, stronger ads with ease 👇🏻

Machine Learning Recommendations

Finding the right influencer or creator to collaborate with can be a daunting task for brands.

Meta’s new machine learning-powered creator recommendations help alleviate this challenge by providing brands with tailored suggestions through Instagram’s Creator Marketplace.

⬜️ How to use it: Head into the Creator Marketplace within Meta’s Business Suite. Once you’re in, Meta’s system will automatically provide recommendations for the best creators to work with for your business based on signals like audience similarity, topic relativity, and more. You can also search for creators with an expanded range of filters.

AI-based Content Performance Predictions

One of the most efficient ways to create ads is to repurpose organic brand content as a paid campaign. But just because something performed well organically doesn’t mean it’ll make a great ad, and vice versa – lackluster organic content can sometimes be reinvigorated by being turned into an ad.

What if you could predict which organic brand content will perform well in paid ads? 🤔

While still in the testing phase, Meta’s creating a tool to utilize advanced algorithms to forecast these predictions. With these AI-based insights, you can refine your content strategy by identifying what content is most likely to succeed.

Image Expansion For Creative Assets

Visual elements can be a powerful resource for any brand campaign… but they can also be the most complicated aspect. Once you’ve decided on a visual, you’re often stuck creating different sizes of that image – or tasking your expensive designer with this mundane task.

Instead of wasting time doing this yourself, Meta’s Image Expansion tool can automatically resize creative assets to fit various formats.

⬜️ How to use it: Start an ad campaign using Meta’s Advantage+ tool. When in the ad creative stage of your workflow, try out the image expansion option. You can also test out Meta’s ability to add text overlays or AI-generated backgrounds behind your product in the visual.

Multi-Destination Product Ads

The key to content marketing is creating stellar, engaging content and connecting it back to a CTA that allows for your audience to easily convert.

Social media platforms are increasingly becoming a place for product discovery, and Meta’s leaning into it with its new multi-destination product ads for Reels.

eCommerce integrations like this have been rampant for years – TikTok Shop, Instagram Shop, LikeToKnowIt – but they’re popular for a reason. Content helps your audience see your product in real action, while eCommerce integrations like multi-destination ads help you turn that interest into a sale.

⬜️ How to use it: Build a multi-destination Reels product ad campaign within Meta’s Ad Manager. Consider bidding for placements on content where your product is most relevant – for example, furniture companies bidding on home influencer content. Make sure your product images are clear and are a comparable product to the content viewers are seeing in the Reel.

External Links in Reminder Promotions

Reminder ads are an excellent way to grab your audience’s attention. Essentially, you can set a reminder for any date that seems significant to your brand – a product launch, a limited promotion, an event – and attract interest by regularly reminding users prior to the date.

Meta’s update takes this to the next level by adding external links to these Reminder promotions, enabling marketers to prompt user actions beyond simple reminders.

⬜️ How to use it: Build a Reminders campaign in Meta’s Ad Manager. After including brief ad copy for the Reminder ad, include a link to the most useful page for users to go to. This might mean creating a custom landing page on your site to ensure you’re setting up users to easily convert.

So, which tool will you implement first? I’d love to hear how you’re integrating this into your work.
